Everyone Needs Mum. What Does Mum Need?

Everyone Needs Mum. What Does Mum Need?

A heartfelt thank you to The Village for the opportunity to facilitate a workshop for new mothers and create space for conversations that often get lost in the demands of early motherhood.

We explored how to recognise difficult emotions like overwhelm, guilt, and loneliness, understand what they might be telling us, hold boundaries with warmth, and ask for the support we need. Through practical exercises, we reflected on what support can actually look like, from sharing daily responsibilities and making time for rest to having someone who listens without rushing to fix things.

My hope was for mothers to leave with a better understanding of their own emotional needs and practical ways to express them.

I also conduct workshops for fathers-to-be, helping them understand the emotional realities of parenthood and how they can support their partners through pregnancy and the transition into parenthood.

Both initiatives reflect something I deeply believe in: when we help people understand the emotional realities of parenthood, we create more supportive families. Thank you, The Village, for making space for this important conversation.
